Top review. Something didn't go very well with this Hallmark Movie, 5 Star at best! First of all, I agree with other critics about Vanessa Marcil's makeup, as well as her choice of eye glasses was hideous.
She looked better after taking them off. You need to survive 4 nights to get one of the 3 endings. To open other horror endings, you need to go through a couple more times, because there are no saves here. Going to work, the girl takes a flashlight and makes her way through the dark streets, diving into narrow passages. A tramp sits near the store, talking about some kind of danger.
Before work, the heroine speaks with her replacement, and then she is left alone. And she is blithely unaware even thought she's celebrated as a relationship counselor extraordinaire! But that's 'cause Kate hardly ever looks up from her to-do lists to take any notice. Their journey to a happily-ever-after is plagued with misunderstandings which kept my heart all aflutter as I urged them on. Sweet, tender, infuriating -- with plenty of toe-curling -- make this a scrumptious romance.
Apr 27, Celestial rated it it was ok. This book wasn't to impressive. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. The main characters, Kate and Lucas, didn't interest me at all. They weren't, in my opinion, very interesting. This book is not meant for young girls. There is definitely mature content that I won't advise anyone to read. It is not terrible, but I don't love it. I don't recommend this book, and would rate it a one and a half star if I could.
I would also disclose a warning that by mature content I mean that they definit This book wasn't to impressive. I would also disclose a warning that by mature content I mean that they definitely talk about sex, and involves a before and after the dead kind of thing. I find this completely inappropriate and not clean, so I hope this helps you decide whether to read it or not.
Jun 03, Just - The romance reader rated it it was amazing. A tear jerking romance if ever there was one. Kate fights an inner struggle that I don't think she even fully realizes she's fighting, all the while telling herself that logic should trump love.
At the same time Lucas is battling to show Kate just the opposite is true. Lucas is the epitome of a true knight in shining armor.
I cried, I smiled, I struggling with not skipping to the end just to find out if the ending was a happy one. A must read for anyone who likes a good love story with some unex A tear jerking romance if ever there was one.
A must read for anyone who likes a good love story with some unexpected events. Oct 29, Anna rated it it was ok Shelves: contemporary , inspirational , adult. This book wasn't for me. It was cute and kind of fun but I prefer my romance to be somewhat credible. Otherwise, my brain starts to nag me with questions like: "tell me again why [character name] might think it was a good idea to do this?
Her advice has helped hundreds of people find love or settle their relationship problems. Now it's her turn. The wedding is going to be perfect. Kate is just finalizing some last minute details with Lucas, the carpenter she hired to build a gazebo for the ceremony. She is interrupted by a call from Bryan. He's not coming. He's in love with another woman. He's so sorry but he can't go through with it. Kate hangs up and sees everything that she has built crumbling to pieces.
Not only has she lost the man she was going to build a future with: being left at the altar will damage her credibility and possibly even end her career. Lucas overhears Kate's phone call. He offers her an unconventional solution: why doesn't he stand in for Bryan and marry her? That way, he can save her career and she can help his mom and dad fix their marriage. As crazy as it might sound, it seems better than the alternative so Kate accepts.
Lucas is in love with Kate. He's known her for a while but he never made a move because she was engaged. His parents don't have a difficult marriage. He just made that up so that he didn't have to confess his feelings for her and because he knew she would be less uncomfortable with an exchange of favors than a one-sided agreement.
Now, he has to figure out how to convince her to make their marriage real. If you don't think about this too much, it seems to make sense. If you do though There were too many people who knew that Bryan was supposed to be the groom, not Lucas. While it may have been a quick solution, it also compounded the problem.
Instead of just looking like a failure, Kate became a liar and looked like a failure. I only say "failure" because she was supposed to be a relationship expert. Her whole career was built on her ability to give advice about romantic problems.
How could people have confidence that she was able fix their relationship issues if she couldn't fix her own? Kate might have had too much faith in her own press.
Although she is supposed to be blindsided by Bryan's decision, I am not sure that he could have entirely concealed his shallowness and insincerity from someone who was so well versed in the signs of a bad relationship unless she was too distracted or overly confident in herself to notice. Because months after Bryan calls off the wedding, he breaks up with the woman he claimed to be in love with and told Kate that letting her go was a mistake.
She is still married to Lucas at this point. Bryan seems to lack basic self-awareness and empathy. He made a very important and costly decision to cancel his wedding with Kate. He needed to be sure that he was doing the right thing. Because he changed his mind again, he lost Kate and his girlfriend. He broke both women's hearts and then he expected Kate to give him a second chance.
In my opinion, he is mostly to blame when his ex-girlfriend sabotages Kate by exposing her deception during a TV interview. Lucas shouldn't have lied to Kate about his parents. It was a dumb choice to propose a marriage of convenience to Kate when he was secretly hoping for more. At one time, Lucas' mom was best friends with Kate's mom.
Instead of blaming her husband who she is still together with , Lucas' mom blamed Kate's mom. She also takes out her resentment on Kate by treating her coldly when Lucas introduces her to his family. Tell me something: when a guy cheats with another woman, why do people automatically cast her in the role of the villain and the man in the role of the victim?
As though his part in the affair was somehow accidental while hers was deliberate? What kind of messed up logic is this? Kate's perceptions about marriage have been scarred by her parents' relationship. Her mom and dad fought frequently before they divorced.
